Hannah and Abby On Birthday Parties and Men

I overheard this conversation last evening, between my 8 year-old and 6 year-old daughters, Abby and Hannah. They were enjoying the grade school equivalent of happy hour, which involves juice boxes and a team effort with construction paper, tape and stuffed animals.

Hannah: My birthday is soon! I want to have a sleepover party, and I want to invite my whole class.

Abby: You can't invite boys to a sleepover party!

Hannah: Why not?

Abby: Because it's inappropriate. And because boys sleep in their underwear.
