Something That My 10 Year-Old Son Says at Least Once a Day

"Mom, Abby and Hannah ruined my life. Do you know when? The day they were born. I wanted to be an only child. Can you please get someone to adopt them?"

He's not kidding. He revels in the moments when he's the only child in the house when the girls are out of the house, fulfilling their many and varied social obligations. Then he says, repeatedly, "I love it when my noisy sisters are gone."

I always tell him that they are his family and someday, he will be grateful for them. I only half believe myself. He's really happy when they're not here.
